Only one of the most timeless and angsty quotes of our time. When Tara Reid's biggest problem was cute pictures of her on the Internet and being hate-f*cked by Ryan Phillipe.
Ah, young love. Sorry, I need to time out to go watch that movie immediately.
Be back.

Okay, so I did not ever recover enough patience to continue reading A Dangerous Method. I did however watch the movie. While the most moving part was the post scripts about how the chick went on to become one of the foremost female pioneers of psycho analytics only to be captured and killed by Nazi bastards, this movie can really be summed up by the completely captivating repeated scenes where Kiera Knightly juts out her already freakishly jutted jaw.
Unsettling.
And if that's what mental illness looks like, Angelina and Winona have my 'more believable' vote any day.
Viggo did not show off any of his man bits, and, still reeling from the weirdness that was Prometheus, I couldn't get into Michael Fassbender.
Possibly my projectile vomiting every 20 minutes during the film only to come back to alien c-sections and unrealistic recovery times might have also soured my taste, but still.
Don't get me started on that hot mess of a cinematic brain fuck.
So overall, disappointed. I can't speak to the book, but I feel like I would have enjoyed it during my more academic days, these days, I don't have the patience.
Yet again, people didn't read it. I have been laying a big ass goose egg when it comes to choosing captivating literature lately.
All I can say is, I've kept myself entertained. My own recent choices have been fantastic so maybe it's you.
Hey, the popular vote doesn't always work out in your favor, just ask Gore.
On that note, Night Circus was a hell of a ride. I really enjoyed it.
And since no one is chomping at the bit to take on the next CPBC, I've taken on In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson, the next installment of the Game of Thrones series (I know that's not what it's really called), and skimming the AP Style book - don't ask.
So, what's everyone else readin'?
Reading "A Discovery of Witches" and "Shadow of Night" by Deborah Harkness. Good reinvention of witch, deamon and vampire mythology with some fun historical bits thrown in.
ReplyDeleteOn another note WHY DOES NO ONE READ THIS BLOFG?!?! It's awesome! We're idiots.
